The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, July 16 reveals Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will realize someone’s trying to set him up.
Also coming up, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) will grill Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Plus, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will have some questions for Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). And Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will lean on Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway).
Y&R spoilers tease Chance will gather everyone in the train car. Lily will say she wants to hear what happened and who’s responsible. Chance will say he’ll do whatever he can to get to the bottom of it.
“Does anybody else find it odd that Cane already anticipated this happening?” Devon will ask. Chance will say Cane has sent some people down the mountain to alert the authorities. But he’s not sure how long they’ll take them to get there.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Amanda Asks Cane What He’s Trying To Hide
“So, you’re calling this a murder?” Lily will ask. Chance will say yes, and he’d like to question all of them. “There’s only one person here with real motive for murder,” Lily will say. Cane will say he gets why they’re all looking at him, but he was the intended target.
He’ll also tell them about the drugged bourbon, from his private stash, that he and Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers) both drank. “So, how is Damian gone and you’re fine?” Lily will ask. They’ll find out that Damian died from a stab wound, a dagger was thrown into his back.
Cane will grab the box where the dagger used to be. “He was drugged with your alcohol and stabbed with your knife?” Lily will say to Cane. Then she’ll turn to Devon. “How do we tell Amy, how do we tell Nate?” she’ll ask. Chance will say he’s going to question Phyllis first.
Cane and Amanda will head to the cocktail area. She’ll say she needs him to be honest. “I need to know, did you have anything to do with this murder?” An angry Cane will say of course not. But Amanda will say the facts are incriminating.
“I don’t mean to alarm you, but how do you expect anyone to interpret this?” Amanda will add. “We both know you have a way to contact the police in Nice, what are you hiding Cane?”
As for Lily, she’ll return to her room, with Abby and Devon. “What if it’s my fault, what if I pushed Cane too hard?” Lily will ask. “What if the father of my children is a murderer?” She’ll point out that Cane fired Damian and invited him there anyway. Devon will say it didn’t make any sense.
“Do you think it’s possible that Cane just wanted Damian dead all along?” Lily will ask him. But Devon will say maybe Damian was Cane’s target but not for the reasons they think. “Cane and Damian could have had a contentious relationship we weren’t aware of.”
Young And The Restless Scoop – Phyllis And Chance Are Surprised
Meanwhile, Nick will arrive in Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) room. He’ll tell her he can’t find his parents. “There’s been a murder,” he’ll add. “It’s Damian, he was stabbed in the back.” When he tells Sharon what happened, she’ll ask if there were any other witnesses besides Cane.
“Phyllis,” he’ll reply. Then he’ll say Cane’s claiming the dagger was meant for him. So, Nick thinks he’ll blame someone else. “If I’m right, this vacation from hell is about to take another turn and get a whole lot worse.”
Nick will think Cane’s going to blame his dad. “If Cane did try to pin this on Victor, I know that Michael would reconsider and come to the rescue,” Sharon will reply. She’ll also worry about how this will affect Phyllis.
Back in the dining area, Phyllis will say there was something different about the maze. “It was like somebody went in there and rearranged everything to throw us off.” Then Phyllis will tell Chance what she saw. “Did you witness anything that might indicate Cane stabbed Damian?” he’ll ask.
Phyllis will say no and suggest Chance focus the investigation elsewhere. So, Chance will ask if she’s covering for Cane. “I would never protect a killer for the sake of a job,” she’ll reply. Phyllis will add Cane couldn’t have hidden the bottle and the knife, she was with him the whole time.
Finally, Nick will rush in, holding the bloody dagger, which is wrapped in plastic. “I found this in the bathroom of my sleeping car,” he’ll tell Chance and Phyllis. “Someone is setting me up.”
